Our Privacy Policy

The information you provide will be used for the purpose of contacting you in respect of your adoption enquiry. It will only be passed on to third party organisations where there is a legal reason to do so, or with your consent, and may be passed on to relevant Adoption Agencies if this is what you request, to ensure you are provided with a responsive service.

One of the key purposes is to link information about children needing families with prospective adopters who are able to consider them. This widens choice for all concerned and helps to ensure the right family is found for each child.

With your consent, we will pass on your details to the relevant adoption agency as described above and in the adoption process sections of the web site. If your enquiry leads to you being approved as adopters, the adoption agency who handle your approval may, with your consent, update us on your approval to assist in the finding a child best suited to your circumstances. These combined records will further help us to develop our adopter recruitment framework for the future. Data used for recruitment purposes will not include any identifying information.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and will treat any personal information by which you can be identified, your name, address, email etc, in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998.  When communicating with  Yorkshire and Humber Adoption Consortium through the website, over the telephone or by correspondence we will not collect any information without your permission. If we do require personal information, then the reasons for this will be stated at the time of collection.  Your personal details will not be sold, traded or rented to third parties for marketing purposes or commercial gain unless we have received explicit consent to do so.

If you have any queries about how your information is being processed please contact
